Being a college student, coffee is always a big deal. Walking around campus, you are guaranteed to find a handful of student holding coffee cups. I’ve never been a real coffee person and when I had some, it was always something super milky and sweet from Starbucks. Coffee would sometimes make my stomach hurt and never settled easy for me. I never felt good about my body after drinking a cup. I could also only drink one cup at a time. Caffeine is essential in college, especially for my late night studying and boring 8 am classes so I needed to find a better solution. Ever since last year, I have started drinking tea. Mainly green tea. I did a lot of research and decided to use sweet herbal teas sparingly and stick to real tea (green, oolong, black and white). I love them and started to obsess over them. the more I read about drinking tea, the better I felt about myself. The high amount of antioxidants and many other health benefits made me want to drink several cups a day, even in one sitting. This past summer, my best friend Maggie mentioned matcha. I researched about it and found that it was the purest form of green tea you can drink. It is green tea leaves ground up into a very fine powder. You are literally drinking the tea leaves and the benefits were significantly higher. However, matcha didn’t taste as good as just green tea but I wanted the benefits. I thankfully found my favorite drink; Sencha Matcha green tea blend. I got the best of both worlds as I was drinking some matcha but it also had regular tea leaves with made the taste so much easier.
